After her father passed away in late 2021, Esperanza had trouble maintaining the store while also attending markets and fairs to promote the business. While her tamales were on the lips (and in the stomachs) of all of her customers, an event for tamale restauradores seemed out-of-reach as she struggled to keep up with bills.

MicroCare was able to lend Esperanza the funds she needed, in order to attend the event, the publicity boosting her revenue enough to keep the business running. Esperanza had approached multiple banks, trying to secure funds, but was repeatedly met with indifference and rejection. Without the personal attention she received from MicroCare, she knows that she would have been unable to continue operating.
